Currently MFP is in the process of rehabbing our barn storage building. We are installing anew roof, windows and doors as well as siding. First we had to pull the structur back together as it was bowing off the foundation. this project will cost roughly $75K with the help of Dover and Rochester CDBG funds that brings our total down to about $10k. We also secured another $44K to replace the roofs on both our transitional apartment buildgings in Dover. Next fall we are looking at repaving and expanding our driveway to better accomodate our clients and move the snow around! Any donation would be greatly appreciated!

Donations Accepted
- Size 4 and 5 diapers as well as large and extra large ADULT diapers
- Chucks for beds to prevent soiling of adults and kids with bladder issues
- Face cloths, hand towels, kitchen towels, Twin size blankets
- Liquid high efficiency laundry, dish soap, dishwasher pods
- Milk, Bread, eggs, Margarine, coffee, sugar, meats, fruits, vegetables, etc.
- Non latex surgical gloves
- Deodorant for men and women, cotton swabs (small individual size), nail files/clippers, tissues boxes/personal size, NEW sweat pants, t-shirts and sweatshirts for men, women and children especially in XL and XXL
These donations can be dropped off anytime (no other clothing please, we do not have the storage capacity, sorry!) , Furniture by appointment only!
- Sturdy, solid wood dressers, other furniture on an as needed basis call us for an appointment to drop off.
Current Needs
The shelter is currently in need of the following food items:
* Produce, Vegetables and meats
* Diced/Whole/Crushed Tomatoes
* Any Condiments such as ketchup, relish, all types or mustard, etc.
* Salad dressings
* Croutons
* Olive Oil, Canola Oil, Coconut oil, etc.
* Spices such as basil, parsley, thyme, oregano, paprika, turmeric, cumin, celery salt, garlic powder, onion powder, etc.
* Bag seasoning mixes such as taco mix, fajita mix, beef stew mix, chili mix, etc.
Volunteer Opportunities!
My Friend's Place offers many opportunities to give back! Whether you want to do give us four hours once a month, once a week, a one shot project or somewhere in between, we can accommodate your needs. If you have a green thumb, painting, organizing, cleaning, or like paperwork we have the volunteer opportunity for you! Please email us below!
Below is a listing of just a few of the things we need.
Regular ongoing opportunities:
- We are currently looking for people to count tickets for us at the Granite State Bingo hall located at Lilac Clb Casino.
- We are currently looking to add volunteers to the front office to assist with answering the phones, greeting visitors, some light paperwork like putting admit packets together etc.
- Mowing the lawn, weeding our many flower gardens, trimming the bushes.
Short term Projects
- We have several areas in the shelter that need some attention with painting, organizing or sprucing up.
- We are in the process of scanning all our old client files and are in need of volunteers to get those files ready for a scanner by removing staples, clips and anything else that may get caught up in our scanner.
